People in the city are going that extra mile by flocking to cosmetologists to look their best.
Gone are the days when women and men frequented salons and followed home remedies for looking good. Today, people want to look their perfect best and that too instantly. Little wonder that skin clinics and cosmetologists have become such a rage in the city, especially for fairness treatments.
Times of need
People are more aware of their skin problems and their solutions.They know the better options to polish their skin and fairness issues. Kumaresan, a popular cosmetologist in Madurai says, “Most of the people who approach me are more concerned with the beauty treatments. We initially catered to the skin and hair. We receive patients with these types of queries — regarding hair dryness and oily skin. But, most of them approach us to beautify their face, for instance, polishing their skin, anti-tanning treatments, removal of scars and blemishes and most importantly, fairness treatments. We offer the peeling procedures and also proper medicated advices to improve their skin complexion and other prominent queries.”
The cosmetologists seemed to be in big demand among the beauty conscious people. Madurai itself has numerous beauty clinics that cater to the people’s beauty needs. “We always give beauty counselling to the people and then we take them to the treatment. Most of the time, they visit the clinic frequently during family occasions to brighten up their skin instead of the facials. They feel a bit secured in our hands than being at their favourite beauty salons. Apart from the teenagers and young people, the people belonging to the middle age sector are also more conscious about their looks these days. They feel that approaching a medicinal source is more satisfactory than a fancy beautician. We treat their concerns in a medical angle and explain about the causes of such issues. We make them understand the framework and the purpose of each and every treatment. We identify the roots of the issues and heal them from the source,” says another cosmetologist.
Summer skin
Be it any season, our skin needs to be taken care of. In summer, one needs to be extra careful. Kavya Ramseh says, “One of my friends referred a cosmetologist for brightening procedures that are more effective than facials. From that day onwards, I have been visiting the concerned doctor for my skin care treatments. But, during my recent visit to a beauty salon, I was given the same kind of treatment that the doctor would give me every time. I found that little bit different. But, I still feel comfortable with the doctor than the beautician.”
The summer is leading both the beauty and non-beauty conscious people to one of these roofs simultaneously. Along with skin care, hair treatments are on full swing among all age groups. With the kind of advancement cosmetology is making, people too are taking wise decisions on the kind of treatments and the appropriate places.
